Diploma of Beauty Therapy & Certificate 3 in Styling (Fashion, Image & Media)

Students of the Diploma of Beauty Therapy course are able to complete the Advanced Make-Up & Styling course in conjuction with their study of Beauty Therapy. This allows students to extend their skills to enable them to provide clients with a complete service. As a stylist you will be able to help clients achieve their best look, consulting them on their clothing choices, hair style, make-up and skin care all in one.

People no longer only visit a beauty salon, or consult a stylist when they havea problem, people are now using these services regularly to not only improve their image, but to relax and treat themselves.

Beauty Therapy

Beauty therapists are in high demand due to the increasing popularity of day spas. The Australian Institute of Beauty Therapy's Diploma of Beauty Therapy course specialises in spa treatments - giving students the skills needed to obtain work as a beauty therapist at a day spa. Students learn treatments such as body wraps and scrubs, hot stone body massage and microdermabrasion.

Students have the opportunity to apply for work with Steiner - in their salons on board luxury cruise ships. All of our students who have applied for these jobs so far, have been accepted! This allows students to travel while they work.

The course also includes makeup, allowing students to obtain work doing bridal and evening/special occassion makeup during the course. This works well with the fashion styling course - where students will obtain further makeup training.

Fashion Styling

The image and beauty industries have always been linked, but with the popularity of stylists (or image consultants) on the rise, many salons and spas are adding 'personal styling' to their list of services. Stylists are also increasingly offering additional services - such as facials, waxing and manicure/pedicures. A stylist with a beauty background, is able to give clients advise on their skin care and provide any treatments recommended - to offer the total package to their clients.

Course Duration

Student's complete both courses over one year - full time. Student's have 5 days of classes per week with the beauty course running for 4 days per week (Monday - Thursday) and Styling running on Friday's. See the course term dates below for the course start and finish dates.

Qualification

Student's who successfully complete the course will be awarded the Diploma of Beauty Therapy from the Australian Institute of Beauty Therapy and the Certificate III in Styling (Fashion, Image and Media)* from the Australian Institute of Makeup & Styling. Both courses are nationally recognised as part of the Australian Qualification Training Framework (AQTF).

* Please note - the Certificate III in Styling (Fashion, Image & Media) is currently undergoing course accreditation. This course is also known as the 'Advanced Makeup & Styling Course'.

Students who enrol in both courses at the same time, will receive a considerable discount on the combined course cost.

• Certificate III in Styling (Fashion, Image & Media) ONLY: $ 6,500 discounted upfront price.

COMBINED COURSE DISCOUNTED UPFRONT PAYMENT: $15,000
• $1,500 non-refundable deposit required to enrol.
• $13,500 balance due on course commencement.

COMBINED COURSE PAYMENT PLAN: $15,400
• $1,500 non-refundable deposit required to enrol.
• $15,000 balance paid in weekly installments, direct debited from your selected bank account over the duration of your study.

Application and Enrolment Process:

1. Attend an interview at the college and complete an interview test - phone (07)55938335 to arrange your interview. (If you live outside the South East Qld Region and are unable to attend an interview, you may complete a phone interview).
2. Fill out and return the Application Form (this can be completed at the interview).
3. Student's will recieve their acceptance/non-acceptance letter and enrolment pack - including enrolment form, payment plan forms and the student handbook.
4. After reading the student handbook and enrolment forms, student's who wish to enrol must submit the enrolment form with the course deposit to secure their position in the course.
