This course incorpoates the Certificate II in Makeup Services and the Certificate II in Nail Technology, as well as waxing and lash and brow treatments to give students the skills to start their career in the beauty industry.

Students will learn makeup application (natural, day, evening, photography, dark skin etc), nail treatments (including manicure and pedicure and acrylic and gel nail enhancements), temporary epilation & bleaching (waxing and hair removal) treatments and sales and merchandising skills for beauty products.

Students in year 11 or 12 may undertake this course as part of the VET in schools program, to contribute towards their high school certificate

Qualification

Students who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised Certificate III in Beauty Services (WRB30104) qualification.

Graduates are eligible for enrolment in the Diploma of Beauty Therapy courses and will be eligible for direct credit for units completed in this course.

Course Duration & Dates

The Certificate III in Beauty Services incorporates three components - the Certificate II in Makeup Services, the Certificate II in Nail Technology and the waxing and lash and brow treatments. The three modules can be completed in any order.

Waxing / Lash & Brow Treatments

10 weeks - 60hrs total

All classes held on the Gold Coast unless otherwise specified.

• 15th Oct - 17th Dec 2010 - Friday's (9am - 3.30pm)
• 2nd April - 25th June 2011 - Saturday's (9.30am - 4pm) - please note there are 3 long weekends during this course.
• 6th May - 8th July 2011 - Fridays (9am - 3.30pm)

Certificate II in Makeup Services

16 weeks - 96hrs total

All classes held on the Gold Coast unless otherwise specified.

Certificate II in Nail Technology

18 weeks - 108hrs total

All classes held on the Gold Coast unless otherwise specified.

• 26th Mar - 13th Aug 2011 - Saturday's (9.30am - 4pm)
• 8th Apr - 12th Aug 2011 - Friday's (9am - 3.30pm)

You will Receive

Students receive a school t-shirt, a mineral makeup kit and a brush set valued at over $120 and a manicure kit and nail polish set valued at $50 plus a text book.

Student's will also have the use of the school equipment and products for all treatments in class.

Course Fees

Course fees cover:

The course fees are for a position in the course and are payable whether the student completes the course or not. Upon enrolling in the course, the student is liable to the college for the course fees in full.

To secure a position in the course, students must pay a minimum course deposit of 10% of the discounted upfront course cost.
