Certificate III in Beauty Services (SIB30110)

Next Start Date: Saturday the 3rd of March 2012: 9:30AM - 4:00PM GOLD COAST

In order to achieve the Certificate III in Beauty Services, students must complete the Waxing and Tinting course and either the Certificate II in Retail Make-Up and Skin Care OR the Certificate II in Nail Technology. Students can complete the two components in any order.

Students in year 11 or 12 may undertake this course as part of the VET in schools program, to contribute towards their high school certificate.

Please note: the Beauty Therapy training package has been recently updated and AIBT is now offering the latest version of this qualification. This course was previously known as the WRB30104: Certificate III in Beauty Services. The Certificate III in Beauty Services qualification has undergone a change in it's packaging rules. Previously to obtain the Certificate III in Beauty Services students needed to complete Waxing, Make-up and Nails - whereas the new version now allows for students to complete the Waxing component and then either the Make-Up or Nail stream.

Waxing and Tinting: (Required for both Option 1 or Option 2)

The Waxing and Tinting course prepares students to work in a salon providing waxing, eyelash and eyebrow tinting and shaping treatments.

This course runs over 12 weeks on either Friday's (9am - 3.30pm) or Saturday's (9.30am - 4pm).

Certificate II in Nail Technology: (Option 2)

The Certificate II in Nail Technology course prepares students to work as a nail technician providing manicure and pedicure treatments as well as acrylic and gel nail enchancements. Students will also learn nail art and the use of the electric file.

This course runs over 20 weeks on either Friday's (9am - 3.30pm) or Saturday's (9.30am - 4pm).

Option 3: Waxing, Make-Up and Nails

Students may choose to complete the Waxing and Tinint course, the Certificate II in Retail Make-Up and Skin Care and the Certificate II in Nail Technology, also obtaining their Certificate III in Beauty Services qualification.

Qualification:

Nationally Recognised Training Students who successfully complete the course will receive the nationally recognised Certificate III in Beauty Services (SIB30110) qualification.

Graduates are eligible for enrolment in the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy or the Diploma of Beauty Therapy courses and will be eligible for direct credit for units completed in this course.

Upgrade to the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy

Student's can easily upgrade from the Certificate III in Beauty Services to the Certificate IV in Beauty Therapy qualification by completing the modules not already undertaken in the Certificate III in Beauty Services. All students will need to complete the facials, massage and anatomy & physiology modules, then depending on the option selected for the Certificate III in Beauty Services, students will need to complete the Certificate II in Retail Make-Up and Skin Care or the Manicure and Pedicure course (unless Option 3 is selected).
